# Build with your data.

Connect a source. Build a view. Turn the result into your next action.

BytesMap brings database reads, dashboards and operational actions into one workspace. Use it to answer a question, inspect the records behind the answer, and run a deliberate next step.

## Start with a real question

A useful first dashboard is specific: Which deployments failed? Which subscriptions need attention? Which services consumed credits? Connect the source that can answer that question, then add the smallest useful view.

The [quickstart](https://bytesmap.com/docs/quickstart.md) walks through a chart and a record drilldown. [How BytesMap fits together](https://bytesmap.com/docs/concepts.md) explains the reusable pieces before you build.

## Documentation for people and agents

Every guide has a **Copy Markdown** action and a plain `.md` URL. [llms.txt](https://bytesmap.com/llms.txt) lists the documentation; [llms-full.txt](https://bytesmap.com/llms-full.txt) includes its text. The [operation reference](https://bytesmap.com/docs/reference.md) and [machine-readable catalog](https://bytesmap.com/docs/reference/operations.json) are generated from the product's shared contracts.

These files describe the build that serves them. On a running instance, use MCP `tools/list` or CLI `--schema` to discover the exact installed version and your available surface. Permissions are checked when operations run.
